Reliance makes phones talk
NEW DELHI: Reliance IndiaMobile is
trying in every possible way to fulfill the fancies of the strata which had to
do without a mobile phone so far. Having sold a million phones in 10 days under
the new Monsoon Hungama offer, the company on Thursday launched a virtual no
extra-cost, but smart tack in form of human voices as ring tones.
The tones are actually attractive wordings in various regional dialects and
accents. These can be downloaded from Reliance Web World menu on to the Samsung
and LG CDMA 1X handsets that the company is offering with the WLL connection.
The colloquial Hindi voice tone approach could click well with the customers in
Hindi belt. Voice tones will enable the user to hear the phone “talking”,
instead of the normal ring tones. In addition, Reliance has also launched fx
sound ring tones.
It will also be possible for Reliance customers soon to record the voice of
their loved ones and download them as voice tones on their phones. Many new age
GSM handsets also offer the recording feature which makes this possible. The

world after messaging.
